“I guess negative comment really make someone a better person afterall.” He grinned, still listening to her story. “That… was quite suprising. I think those haters really don’t have anything good to do. This was the first time I’ve heard that kind of story to be honest.” He made face of disgusted, as he imagined how awful it would be to receive such awful prank. “Yep. You should go here often. I would love to entertain and talk to you more.” he smiled. It was true anyways, even if it isn’t his job, he really like talking to her even if they just met.
“I was right. You’re not that bad as they say.” He said, as a sudden smirk crawled up on his face as he stared at her dancing. He didn’t really believe her with what she had said earlier, and Wooyoung really believes that anyone can dance. Even if you’re not good at it, the main idea is that you can dance. As the song started to change, and it was somehow… a bit seductive… The song changed into Usher’s Lil Freak. He started to dance bit seductively as he bit his lips. “Show me what you got.” He smirked with his own words, as he started to do some body waves infront of the girl. He wasn’t really trying to be sexy in the first place, he was just trying to provoke the girl to dance seductively.
“It happens to everybody, trust me. The rats weren’t that big of a deal actually, I know many people that’s been through worst. I feel lucky to have only been sent that really.” She stirred the straw around her drink and let out a sigh. “I probably will. It’s nice having someone to talk to that wouldn’t judge me.” Dasom flipped her bangs out of her way and looked up to meet him in the eyes. “It’s just a really nice feeling. Of course, you might not understand.” She looked back down again and twiddled with her fingers. Maybe she should have just left it where he didn’t recognize her. The fact that he knows that she’s the Kim Dasom just doesn’t make it too much difference. She knows that he won’t take her much differently but it still bothered her and her heartstrings tugged.
She smirked at his moves and got triggered to do something wilder. She dropped down to the floor and waved back up, butt sticking out clearly for anybody to see. “I’m not that great, but I guess I ain’t that bad either.” She leaned in close to him and grabbed him by the waist, pulling him close. She then pulled him by the tie he had around his neck and whispered, “Are you trying to challenge me?” She leaned back out and winked before pushing him and doing a body roll. It was great being able to dance like this, the place was dark so nobody but Wooyoung knew who she was.
woot, i decided this would be a pretty good idea now that i’m going to start getting busy again \o/

He shook his head, “Na-ah. I won’t do that.. I’m not that kind of guy, and I won’t benefit anything if I spread the news about the korea’s little sister drinking and clubbing right now.” He jokingly said. As she rejected his offer, he just nodded, and pick up the shot that was supposed to be hers. He drank it with one shot, and put the glass back at the table. “Hmm. Really? It must be hard.” He glanced at her, feeling a little sad. She was exposed to show business industry at such a young age, and she must’ve not enjoyed her teenage life normally for sure. “You should take a break from time to time. There are a lot of fun things to do outside the industry. Don’t stress yourself, much” he smiled over to her, before looking away.
His ears perked up, “Eh? Really? Neh, I bet you’re not that bad as what they were saying.” He furrowed his eyes, and a sudden smirk was formed on his lips. “Why don’t we go to the dancefloor and dance!?” he exclaimed. “Wait here.” He hurriedly walked out of the counter, as he put off his vest and hung it on the hanger inside the bar. He tapped the shoulder of his co-bartender, indicating that he was going out for awhile as he was putting on his leather jacket. He walked over to the girl, and held her arms lightly before pulling her into the dancefloor. “I don’t really believe that you’re that bad, you know.” He chuckled. As soon as they arrived on the dancefloor, he broke his hold into her arms, and started to dance normally infront of her. He smiled over to her before moving his head a little closer to hers, whispering “Come on, don’t be shy. Don’t worry, no one will judge you, I bet all the people here on the dancefloor are too drunk to notice your dancing.” He chuckled glancing at the people around them who were grinding at each other and making out.
Dasom shrugged. “I guess I just got used to it, the whole entertainment industry I mean. After two years, it just becomes your life. Like I laugh at comments from anti fans now that hate on me for the stupidest reason.” She scoffed remembering some of the comments that she’s seen before. “I’ve received a dead rat as a present before. Kind of freaked me out but I was more shocked at where someone would get a dead rat.” Shivering at the thoughts of the bloody rat, she fanned herself realizing it was getting quite heated in the club. She blames it on the influx of people that started swarming in. “I’m taking a break right now, aren’t I?” She smiled and took her hair down from its ponytail because it was hurting her head right now. Ponytails and alcohol really does something to your head, might as well get rid of one because you can’t really dispose the other.
She shook her head. “No, trust me, I truly am horrible when it comes to dancing. Why do you think they haven’t given me an album in forever, all I’ve been doing is acting and commercials these days.” She was interrupted however when Wooyoung dragged her out onto the dance floor. She wasn’t used to being in such a place and she really couldn’t dance at all. Simple techniques here and there that was required to be learned as a trainee but nothing more than that. Her eyes grew large and her mouth formed a small ‘o’ shape seeing the man’s dance moves. She froze when he leaned in to whisper into her ear but took his word as encouragement. Dasom started out with a simple wave before breaking out into simple dances that wouldn’t be seen as too embarrassing.
“Oh come on.”
It would seem that he bit a lot more than he can actually chew on this one. As he dragged her with him, thoughts begin to cloud his mind that the world around him slowly faded into a dull silence. Then he started to hear his heart beating fast. What if someone sees her? Now that the she became this famous, garnering a following of at least fifty paparazzis at the moment, there’s a high chance that someone else has been following her that was apart from the group that was already chasing them. He tightened his grip around her wrist but still made sure that he won’t hurt her. The people that they pass by could only spare a moment to stare, all in utter confusion to maybe why this couple-looking people are running.
He could only wish no one would notice that he was running with Dasom. She needs to be protected at this point.
“You stupid shit lawyer student, how could you miss Dasom on TV. Have I turned into a caveman? How.. come on! Where to hide…”
He turned his gaze from side to side as he talked to himself in his mind. Then when opportunity presented itself, he was quick to make a turn and take it. It was a store, a boutique to be exact. The surroundings are fairly familiar as it is a couple or so blocks away from where he lives. Maybe if he could keep her there for a while and make her manager pick her up from there, there won’t be any problems.
“Let’s hide here. Take this.” He grabbed a hat on the shelf and gave it to Dasom. In turn, he took a weird looking pair of shades and wore it. He looked around if they have gained attention, only to be surprised at a sight that made his jaw drop. A 4 by 5 feet poster of Dasom wearing the same hat that he gave her.
He quickly turned his eyes onto her but the people were already staring.
It seemed like the biggest problem right now was to get rid of the crowd that was currently chasing after her. If even one picture got taken of her and Jonghun together, it would cause a scandal and she definitely didn’t want that to happen. The two of them had a nice relationship after they broke up and she didn’t want that to become awkward because of the news articles that would be up the next morning by nosy reporters. There didn’t seem to be a good chance of that happening however because the photographers she recognized weren’t from very big companies so even if they did get a photo, it wouldn’t become such a huge deal and if some random student posts up an account of seeing her with a boy, nobody would believe them either - you could say she was pretty safe. Dasom didn’t know exactly where they were heading but she was running as fast as she could, trying to keep up with Jonghun’s speed - dang, he was always faster than her.
The squeeze in her hand got tighter and they were inside some store and a hat was put on her head. She chuckled though when she realized the big cut out of her standing right next to her. This was one of the boutiques she advertised for, of course they would put a big cut out of her right near the door. She hated seeing these though, it kind of freaked her out. “Maybe we should leave this place too, oppa. I don’t think this is a much better place to be.” She looked out the glass door and saw a cafe across the street that seemed pretty vacant and pointed. “Why don’t we make a run for it over there? Doesn’t seem like much people are there.”
“Oh. Stupid me for not realizing who you are. I didn’t watch TV often, so I’m not quite familiar with the idol faces” he scratched the back of his head out of embarrassment, he was so stupid for not recognizing her, hearing that she was quite popular. He felt a little bad for her, so he really wanted to apologize. “Mianhe, Dasom-ah.” He bowed politely. Moving his head a little closer to her face, he whispered. “Don’t worry. I won’t tell anyone about your real identity. No one will know I guess. It’s a bit dark here. So yeah. Just have fun.” He winked, and smiled before pulling his head back. “Since you are quite popular, you shouldn’t drink that much, who knows what could happen to you.” There were so many possibilities that could happen to her if she indeed get drunk, like being harassed by those people who would recognize her, or she might be the talk of the town or in news. For sure they just met, but he wasn’t really that.. self-centered guy that cared only about his work. “Just be sure that you can handle yourself, it’s okay to drink.”
“How was it?” he gave the girl a curious look, before chuckling a bit with her expression. “Seems like.. it really made you a bit tipsy. You want more? Can you still handle another shot?” he asked, as he was wiping the counter before picking up the used shot glass Dasom just used and poured another alcohol into it. He drank the alcohol with one gulp. “So Dasom.. Are you still studying? What you’ve been up to?” he casually asked. He glanced through the place, and saw people having a dance battle at the dancefloor. He just laughed on how awful the other guy danced. “Do you know how to dance, Dasom-ssi?”
She shook her head and brought her hands up, making a motion that meant that it was perfectly fine. “No, I was quite relieved that you didn’t recognize me, it’s easier to enjoy myself that way. Because then I don’t have to worry about my every move being on a headline tomorrow morning. It seems you’re the only one that’s figured it out though, and you don’t seem like the person to call a news reporter and tell them that Korea’s little sister has been drinking and clubbing, at least, I hope not.” She nervously laughed and scratched her head. “I can handle myself, I won’t get into any trouble. I’ve been by myself for practically 5 years now, I’m all grown up at such a young age.” She let out a breath as she remembered that she’s had no one to take care of her since she ran away from home. It seemed like a great choice back then and when she thinks back to all the incidents she had to go through, it still is, but sometimes, she wants to be a child and have parents looking after her. Why couldn’t her parents be normal?
Dasom closed her eyes and brought her head back up, ignoring the dizzying feeling in her head, it’ll go away soon, it didn’t seem like it’ll last for very long. “No thank you, I think that was enough for that one.” She shook her head to get her attention back and smiled to herself when she felt a little back to normal. “I haven’t been to school in about two years, that’s when I debuted. I’ve been working on my next album and I’m starring in a drama right now. Busy busy me, huh?” She got tired of her entertainment life sometimes but it was worth it when she saw people screaming her name or asking for her signature or even smiling just by seeing her around. She guessed she made people happy and that was okay with her. “Oh, I suck at freestyle dancing. No wonder articles come out about me being a suckish idol.”
He looked at her. The only moment that was spared from the almost uninteresting first few minutes of their encounter, where he could only remember taking her hand, the feeling of being pushed and toss around then ending up here to where they are somehow.
She looked as beautiful as back then, innocent, gentle eyes and that sweet, irresistible smile though of course the effect is now different as the feelings were long gone. The friendship stayed somehow with the few exchange of messages to which they both can’t commit. Two or three per day. Sometimes law school would take much of his time away that was meant spending with others that he left his phone or any other portal for contact unattended. Despite this, they managed to stay in touch though they never really delved into what the other is getting into.
That one, sounded strange though. It sounded so normal. The words were quickly picked up as if it was a common greeting from her. The hint of charm still lingered unusually but that wasn’t the thing that was bothering him.
“Waitwaitwaitwait..” he muttered out without even giving his chance to breath in between words as he waved his hands in front of her to stop her from further explaining. The thing is, it was having the reverse effect that they are both expecting, he was, more than ever, getting lost in the whole situation. “Bodyguards? Manager unnie? What’s this?” But before he could let Dasom answer for herself, a scene played back in his head
“Dasom is from around here man!”
“No way! They told me she stays in Cheongdam-dong”
“Aish..” he closed his eyes shut. It finally dawned on him, she got what she wanted and is living it. He believed that she’d get to places with that kind talent and looks but he would never expect an entire mob to chase her around like that. “That mob was for you..” he whispered to himself. He finally opened his eyes and dropped his shoulders. The mob, the one specifically for her, is moving towards where they are. Without saying anything more, he raised a finger to her, asking her for a moment. Then he grabbed her hand then ran towards the alley. “Go!”
It seemed that he was staring at her for the longest time ever. She managed to get a good look at him, she hasn’t seen him in a while, it was nice to meet him again but this definitely wasn’t a way she would have imagined their encounter. His hair seemed to be a bit longer than what she was used to but she didn’t mind, it still looked fine on him, he grew like a millimeter taller, or maybe not, he just felt bigger than what he was years ago. That’s just how everybody feels when they see someone they haven’t met in forever. And other than that, he was exactly the same. The exact same Choi Jonghun she remembered. She probably was a whole different story though. Although she didn’t have makeup on, she probably got a lot better looking with skin treatments and all different kinds of managing she did with her looks and body, she grew many cms taller than years ago and her hair grew to its slightly longer length. It was long then she cut it short once and her management has been making her grow it again because she apparently looks better with it.
Dasom giggled at his confused face and how he seemed to be so puzzled at everything. “Well, who else would it have been for? I’m the only celebrity that lives around here.” She smirked as she realized she sounded a bit cocky but it was true, she was the only public figure that lived anywhere around this perimeter. Before they could even properly say anything, the mob was coming back for her and he grabbed onto her hand and they started running again. It was a good thing she wore actual shoes instead of flats or high heels or else she would be having the hardest time of her life right now, running away from the flock of people coming after her to get a good look or photo of her. She never understood what was so interesting about meeting a celebrity. They’re humans. She never felt the thrill when she saw someone famous on the streets long before she debuted.
“Dating ban?” he asked, blinking. “Isn’t that word just for idols?” he asked, giving her a curious look. For sure he did heard the word dating ban before. “Where have I heard of that word before.” He thought to himself, furrowing his eyes, thinking. He suddenly remembered that he heard the word a few times while watching reality shows on TV. “Why do you have a dating ban? What’s your occupation anyways?” he asked. He suddenly remembered what he was trying to remember earlier. “Wait a minute. Don’t tell me you’re a TV personality? Or an idol?” his eyes widened, clearly surprised. He remembered that he encountered a model on TV named Kim Dasom. “Ehhhhhhh! Are you the Kim Dasom I’ve seen on TV!?” he exclaimed, gasping.
He nodded, and started to mix different types of alcohol. It looked similar to the one he gave her earlier, but it has a different additional component, as he pulled out his lighter on his pocket. Moving the lighter closer to the drink, he lit the lighter, making the alcohol’s upper part on fire. He pulled out a straw under the counter and put it on the drink, before placing it infront of her. “Hmm. It’s a strong one cause the fire adds heat on the alcohol itself. It’s called blowjob.” He explained, pointing at the fire. “You should drink it up all at once using a straw so it would just take once shot. It really heats up your throat once you finished it.” He pushed the shot glass lightly towards the other. “Go on, drink it.” He said, leaning on the counter as he stared at her, waiting for her to drink it. He was really curious on how the girl would react after considering it is her first time drinking today. “I would really admire your alcohol tolerance if you won’t feel a little tipsy after 3 shots of that drink, usually when people drinks more than 3 shots of it, they would really get a bit drunk.” He chuckled.
Instead of being terrified like she thought she would when he found out her identity, she was more amused that it took him all this time to find it out. Maybe he just didn’t watch tv that much or use the internet because usually, people could point her out from meters away. That’s how much she’s being shown right now to the public. It was pretty comfortable talking to him as just a normal person, not the superstar Kim Dasom, but when it comes to Wooyoung, she didn’t really mind either way. It seemed that he didn’t mind her presence even before he realized who she was. She chuckled at his surprised face and merely nodded. “Yes, I’m Kim Dasom. Supposedly South Korea’s little sister. I don’t even know where that nickname came from.” It was pretty cheesy but she couldn’t say she didn’t like it though because it just meant a lot of people liked her. “And almost everybody in the entertainment industry has a dating ban. Mine’s almost over but what help is that going to do, it’s not like anybody’s going to want to meet me because they’re all scared.”
She jumped a little at the flame that appeared but soon her eyes grew in awe at how pretty the simple show was. She laughed at the name of the drink and picked up the cup. She was feeling a bit dipsy at the moment but seeing that she drank so much and was only at such a state right now made her believe that she could probably drink this and still manage to walk and talk. She took the drink and took a sip from it and after feeling quite alright, she finished the drink and slammed it on the counter top, causing a great noise that didn’t attract anyone’s attention though, thankfully. She could feel herself starting to feel real dizzy after that drink but it felt so good. It burned even more than the previous drinks she’s had and she leaned onto the countertop with a stupid smile on her face.
God! These barbarians!
That was his first thought as he tried to pull Dasom out from the crowd. He could not believe how these people could be so selfishly reckless that they fail to see that someone else is getting hurt so that they could take pictures of that certain idol rumored to live here. It’s with these kinds of manners that Jonghun was pushed to despise people who waste their time by following artists around like they have no lives of their own.
As the people pressed against him from all directions, Jonghun held Dasom’s hand tightly so she wouldn’t be carried by the unforgiving tide of people. To make things even worse, the constant flashes was rendering him almost blind and dazed that he couldn’t even see a few feet ahead from him without squinting or blinking.
Then there’s a camera man who suddenly turned, the corner of his camera lens whipping against Jonghun’s lower lip. His head swerved a little from the impact but he kept himself from starting a scandalous quarrel that he’d gain nothing from but more trouble.
“Excuse me, coming through. Ex- Goddamnit, Excuse.. thank you. Excuse me.”
His unending request for forgiveness only fell on deaf ears as they are too preoccupied and engrossed with stalking someone who appears in TV. The seemingly unrelenting clobbering and barging finally ended when they walked out of the scrum, thankfully, alive and in one piece.
“What the hell Dasom?” he tip toed to see if the group is still there “Can you be more careful? You could’ve been crushed in there!” Jonghun let out a forceful sigh and looked at her eyes. “Are you okay?”
She gripped onto the man’s hand tightly as he helped lead their way out of the crowd of crazy reporters, fans, and other people who just decided to crowd around the big mob. She doesn’t blame the bystanders that decided to join in on the mob because who wouldn’t be curious if a whole lot of people were crowded around one person, heck, even she gets interested when she sees this picture somewhere. Dasom still hasn’t had the chance to check on the man who was helping her get out of the big pile of people. Whoever he was, she’ll have to thank him a lot later for being so generous and helping her out because she would have gotten stuck in the middle if it wasn’t for him.
The hat on her head was pulled off by a random person in the crowd and the whole pool of people gasped. She smiled, meaning it was okay, and just hung her head down low even more. She had no makeup on and it would be a total embarrassment if pictures of her right now were to end up on the internet. Her management would kill her for being so careless and not looking at least decent when she leaves the apartment complex and her manager unnie would kill her for sneaking out on her own like that. Couldn’t have that happen or else it’ll follow her till the end of her career. She could just imagine the headlines tomorrow on nate or naver. ‘Korea’s Sweetheart, Kim Dasom, Humiliating Bare Face’ She shuddered at the thought of it. With these thoughts in her head, she hasn’t realized that she’s made it out of the crowd until a familiar voice was nagging at her for her terrible decision. She knew this voice, it was one she was fond of.
She looked up to see the face that she hasn’t seen in years, one she missed terribly. “Jonghun… oppa.” The name fell out of her lips so naturally like it did so many years ago all the time when they were together. He was the only ex that ended up still remaining in her life and she didn’t end up hating. He let her go when she told him of the job offer she got on becoming an idol and at first she was devastated and heart broken but realized that it was the best for her and the job she was about to step into. She hasn’t seen him in forever and it was the double the surprise meeting him right now. “Yeah, I’m fine. And it’s alright, I’m used to all of that already. But usually I have bodyguards or my manager unnie dragging me out. Never been through it alone like that. Thank you.”
